Merchant bankers

Given all the money and time at their disposal, you would have thought that Cambridge scientists would have better things to do than to study the testosterone levels of city traders and their 'performance'. Their utterly banal and thus unbelievable conclusion is that, "[m]oney doesn't make the world go round: it's testosterone. The more that traders have, the richer they'll become...".
Their could be a poverty/masculinity thesis here. Men trapped in poverty are just not manly enough to make any money. Give them a pill. But the implicit message is thus: masturbation boosts testosterone levels, testosterone boosts sharedealers performance, the world's economy is being dragged along by a load of wankers.
